Problem

Error Message: "Internal error occurred [80020009: Raised com exception: String exceed length limit[src=COM error,guid={00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}]]" encountered when trying to assign the "Connect to extension" option under the IVR section of a multi-site extension.

Environment

RingCentral Admin Portal with Multi-Site Support enabled
 

Solution

You will need to change the timeout extension assignment in IVR menus. Follow the steps below:
 
1.  Under the Phone System tab, go to Auto-Receptionist > IVR Menus.

2. Identify the IVR menu extension that needs to have the change made.

3. Go to that menu and select the “Key Presses” section.

4. Click the button for “Connect to extension” and click “Select Extension”.

5. Search for the extension you want to assign as the timeout action for the menu, select it and click “Done”.

6. Click the “Save” option to apply the change.
