Difference Between Shared Lines and Call Queues

Shared Lines

Shared Lines are groups of phones or devices that share the same number. When the number assigned to a Shared Lines group is called, all the phones in the group ring and the call can be answered from any of them. A Shared Line supports one call at a time.

See Shared Lines - Overview | RingCentral for more information.

Call Queues

Call Queues are groups of Users or Extensions which receive queue calls to be answered by the next available member of the group. A Call Queue can support up to 25 calls waiting. Creating a Call Queue group is beneficial if for example, you have a group of IT support agents that need to answer queue calls coming into your support line.

See Call Queue - Create Call Queue Group | RingCentral for more information.
