To Voicemail is available to ONLY contact extensions or direct number under the same RingCentral accounts.

Use Case Scenario

A Support Agent may receive a call from a Customer in RingCentral App and may need to transfer the call to a Service Engineer for further assistance. The Support Agent can use the Transfer Now option to transfer the call to the Service Engineer immediately. However, this may result to a bad customer support experience when the Service Engineer is unavailable to accept the call.

With the Warm Transfer or Ask First option, the Support Agent can talk to the Service Engineer first and check his/her availability before disconnecting the call. If the Service Engineer is unavailable, the Support Agent can then attempt to call another available one or transfer to the Service Engineer's voicemail and ensure that the Customer's concern will be resolved.
