Accessing and Configuring RingCentral for Google's Settings

Access the settings by following the steps below.


Step 1:

Click the More icon.

Calling


Step 1:

Click Calling.

Click Calling


Step 2:

Click the drop-down box below Make my calls with.

Click the drop-down box below Make my calls with.


The following options are available:

OPTIONDEFINITION
BrowserUse this option to make and receive calls using your computer's microphone and speaker.
RingCentral for DesktopUse this option to make and receive calls using your RingCentral for Desktop app.
My RingCentral PhoneUse this option to make and receive calls using your RingCentral phone. For the call you make, your RingCentral phone will ring first then the party you called.
Other PhoneUse this option to make and receive calls using your other phones such as home or cell phones that you have added to your RingCentral Extension. For the call you make, this phone will ring first then the party you called.
Custom PhoneUse this option to make and receive calls using any phone of your choice by entering a valid phone number in the field below. For the call you make, this phone will not ring first then the party you called.


Step 3:

Click Save.

Authorize Google

Click Authorize to link your G Suite ID with RingCentral.

NOTE: You only need to authorize the app once. This option only appears when the app has not been authorized yet.

Click Feedback to open a page where you can send information related to your experience in using RingCentral for Google.

Placing a Call from RingCentral for Google

NOTE: The outbound call will be placed depending on the configured Calling setting. You can access this setting by going to the More menu > Settings > Calling. Refer to RingCentral for Google's Calling Settings section for more information.


Step 1:

Click the Dialer icon.

To place a call, use the number buttons on the dial pad or type the contact's number or name directly in the text box.

Step 3:

Click the Down   arrow Down arrow icon icon, then select the RingCentral number to use as the RingOut number.

NOTE: Outbound calling is only available via RingOut to a RingCentral provisioned device (either the desktop app or desk phone) available on your account. Custom numbers cannot be used.

Step 4:

Click the Call button.

The RingOut screen appears. On your RingCentral device, click Answer. You will then be connected to the number you are calling.

Sending a Text Message from RingCentral for Google


Step 1:

Click the Messages icon.

Click Compose Text.

Type the contact's number or name in the text box, then select the number where the message will be sent.

Add more contacts if needed by typing the number or name.

Viewing, Making Calls and Sending Text Messages from the Call History Log

The Call History Log allows you to view incoming, outgoing and missed calls. It also allows you to send a message or call a contact right from the Contact's view.


Step 1:

Click the History icon.

The list of all your incoming Incoming call , outgoing Outgoing call , and missed Missed call calls will be displayed.

Click on a call to expand the menu.

The list of all your calls will be displayed.


Step 3:

Click the Call icon Call icon or click the Text Text icon icon to send a message to the selected number.
