Audio Conferencing | RingCentral Phone for Mobile

The RingCentral Phone for Mobile allows you to initiate conference calls, with its ability to send email or SMS invitations directly from the app. Hosts and Participants may join the conference by tapping the link on the invite. When enabled, Participants may join the conference before the host logs in.

With Audio Conferencing on the RingCentral Phone for Mobile, you have access to the following:

 
Conferencing screen

Dial-In Number

is the number that the Host and the Participants dial to connect to the conference bridge.

Host Access

is the number that the host dials after entering the Dial-In number to be able to log into the conference.

Participant Access

is the number that the Participants dial to be able to connect to the conference. There can be up to 999 Participants connected to a conference, depending on the Internet connection.

Join Before Host

the host can opt to allow Participants to join the conference even when the host has not yet logged in. This feature can be enabled or disabled by the host.

Invite

Invite with Text allows the host to send invites to Participants via SMS. Participants may join the conference by tapping the link to the conference.

Invite with Email allows the host to invite Participants via Email. Participants may join the conference by clicking a link to the conference.

Start Conference

can be set up by tapping the conference button.

Inviting Participants to the conference


1. Log in to the RingCentral Phone for Mobile as an Administrator.

2. Tap the More icon.

3. Tap Conferencing.

4. Decide whether to allow Participants to join the conference before the Host does. If yes, tap the Join Before Host slider button.

5. Tap Invite.

6. You can invite Participants to the conference through text or email.

Invite Participants using Text

IMPORTANT: If you do not have a phone or Local Number assigned to your extension, you will only be able to send and receive text messages to/from other Users in your RingCentral account. In order to send/receive text messages to other carriers/another RingCentral account, a phone or Local Number must be assigned to your extension.

Enter the Participant's name or tap the + button to add Participants from your Contacts list. Tap Send.

NOTE: You may see a different screen when you send an email invitation, depending on the version and model of your phone.

Joining a RingCentral Conference

Participants can join in 3 ways:

• Text (regular SMS - iPhone only)
Email
Dial-in Number
RingCentral Phone for Mobile 
(RingCentral SMS feature using Tap-to-Join)

 

When invited through regular Text / SMS (iPhone only)

iPhone Users can now join a RingCentral Conference through a Text Invite, even without installing the RingCentral Phone for Mobile. Android Users can join a conference call by calling the Dial-in Number.

If you are an iPhone User, continue below:


1. Tap the Conference link.

2. ​Participants who do not have a RingCentral account can tap Others: Join the Conference with the phone. This will allow them to join the conference by calling the Dial-in Number from their phone. 

NOTE: This will use their carrier's calling minutes.

RingCentral Users can tap RingCentral member: Join the Conference in RingCentral App to join the conference. When VoIP Calling is enabled on your RingCentral Phone for Mobile, the app will call the Dial-in number, and the Participant code will be entered automatically.

NOTE: If the Text Invite is received through the RingCentral Phone for Mobile, RingCentral Users with an Android or iPhone device can use the Tap to Join feature to join the conference call.

When invited through Email (iPhone only)

iPhone Users can now join a RingCentral Conference through an Email Invite, even without installing the RingCentral Phone for Mobile. Android Users can join a conference call by calling the Dial-in Number. If you are an iPhone User, continue below:


1. Open the Email Invite for the conference, and then tap the link to join.

2. Participants who do not have a RingCentral account can tap Others: Join the Conference with the phone. This will allow them to join the conference by calling the Dial-in Number from their phone.

Dial-in Number

RingCentral Users and their clients who are non-RingCentral Users can join a RingCentral Conference call by calling the Dial-in Number specified on the invite they receive. When Participants call the Dial-in Number, they will be asked to enter the Participant Code. The Participant Code will allow Participants to join the conference. 

Participants from an International location can also join the Conference by calling an International Dial-in Number

RingCentral Phone for Mobile (Tap-to-Join feature)

If the Text Invite is received through the RingCentral Phone for Mobile, RingCentral Users with an Android or iPhone device can use the Tap to Join feature to join the conference call.
