Your RingCentral system comes with a default personal greeting, such as "Thank you for calling (user name)." Custom greetings allow you to change what callers hear when they connect to an extension. The User Greeting
feature is disabled by default and is not a personal voicemail announcement. You can have this option enabled if you prefer the system to answer the call with a recorded welcome message so callers know they have reached the right person.NOTE:
Administrators should log in to the RingCentral Online account
then go to My Extension
in order to configure his User Greeting. Check User: Set up User Greeting
for directions. IMPORTANT:
Only Super Admins
, User Admins
, and Users with User Admin access can set up an extension's User Greeting. See User Roles and Permissions
for more information.
The Administrator should log in to the RingCentral Online account
and go to the Users
section on the Admin Portal
Follow the steps below to learn how you can enable and set up an extension's User Greeting on the RingCentral Online account.
Users: Adding a Custom User Hours (Business Hours) Greeting for your Own Extension
On the User list > Users With Extensions tab, click the User.
Click Screening, Greeting, & Hold Music
Click User Hours
or After Hours
below User Greeting
, then click Edit
Make sure Set Greeting
is set to Custom
Select how you prefer to customize the User Greeting, then follow the instructions.
Preview the customized User Greeting by using the following buttons:
• Click Play
to listen to the custom recording.
• Click Re-record
to change or replace the custom recording.
