Recents (previously called Call Log) are used to track incoming and outgoing calls in your account. The RingCentral Mobile App allows you to view your recent calls once you have started using your RingCentral service. 

NOTE: If you are using your RingCentral Mobile app as an Administrator, the Recent Calls feature synchronizes with your RingCentral Online account. Once you delete any logs from your mobile app, you will not be able to retrieve it. 

This article demonstrates how you can use the Recents feature on your RingCentral Mobile app. It covers the following topics:

Accessing Recent Calls on your Mobile app 

Step 1:

Launch the RingCentral Mobile App on your device.

For iOs: Tap Recents.

For Android: You can do it in two (2) ways:

Tap Keypad > Recent Calls buttonTap More > Recent Calls

Understanding the Recent Calls Icons

The table below presents icons that define the direction and type of action in the Recent Calls section:

How to Place a Call from Recent Calls

To place a phone call from the RingCentral Mobile app's Recent Calls, follow the steps below:

Step 1:

On the Recents / Recent Calls section, select a number and tap on the Info icon User-added image.

Step 2:

Tap the Call button User-added image  next to the number that you wish to call.

Your call should now be connecting.

How to Send a Text Message from Recent Calls

To send an SMS or Fax message from one of the numbers in your RingCentral Mobile app's Recent Calls section, follow the steps below:

Step 1:

On the Recents / Recent Calls section, select a number and tap on the Info icon User-added image.

Step 2:

Tap the New Text icon New Text icon.

Step 3:

Compose your message on the text box. Tap the Send icon Send icon..

NOTE: The New Message window on an iOS device may appear slightly different from an Android device.

iOSAndroid
On your iOS device, type your text message on the text box, then tap Send.On your Android device, type your text message on the text box, then tap Send.

How to Send a Fax Message from Recent Calls

To send a Fax message from one of the numbers in your RingCentral Mobile app's Recent Calls section, follow the steps below:

Step 1:

On the Recents / Recent Calls section, select a number and tap on the Info icon User-added image.

Tap Send a Fax

Step 3:

Set the cover page and/or attach the documents to your fax message. Tap Send.

How to Block a Number from Recent Calls

NOTE: This feature only applies to contacts that are not saved in your address book.

Step 1:

On the Recents / Recent Calls section, select a number and tap on the Info icon User-added image.

Tap Block Number.

Tap Block Number.

Step 3:

Tap Continue in the confirmation window.

How to Unblock a Number from Recent Calls

Once the number is blocked, you can unblock it by clicking on Unblock option.

NOTE: This feature only applies to contacts that are not saved in your address book.

Step 1:

On the Recents / Recent Calls section, select a number and tap on the Info icon User-added image.

Tap Unblock Number.

Tap Unblock Number.

Step 3:

Tap Continue in the confirmation window.

Tap Continue.

How to Clear Recent Calls

NOTE: Clearing the Recent Calls from the RingCentral Mobile app will permanently delete ALL Recent Calls entries.

Step 1: 

On the Recents / Recent Calls section, tap on the Trash Bin icon User-added image.

Tap Continue in the confirmation window.

How to Filter your Recent Calls

NOTE: You need to have Administrator access to perform these actions. Users who are logged in as the Administrator will see their personal extension's Recent Calls by default.

Step 1: 

On the Recents / Recent Calls section, tap the Filter icon Filter icon to view your available filters.

Step 2: 

Display your Personal Contacts or your Company Contacts.

To see Recent Calls from your Personal Contacts, tap Personal (for iOS) or Personal Contacts (for Android).

Otherwise, tap Company (for iOS) or Company Directory (for Android).

NOTE: The Filters window on an iOS device may appear slightly different from an Android device.

Step 3: 

Tap Done (for iOS) or the Check (for Android) button to save your preference.
