The Messages & Notifications screen lets you manage your voicemail greetings, and set notifications for voicemails, faxes, or missed calls. Notifications can be configured in the Notifications section, where you can set email or text message (SMS) notifications for when you receive voicemail, faxes, text messages, or missed calls.

Configuring the Notification settings


The Notification settings can be viewed on any of the 2 screens.

BasicThe Basic screen lets you enable or disable Email or SMS notifications for RingCentral features. When enabled, Email and SMS notifications will be sent to the Email Address and Mobile Number that you have specified. 
AdvancedThe Advanced screen lets you enable or disable Email or SMS notifications for RingCentral features. When enabled, Email and SMS notifications will be sent to the Email Addresses and Mobile Number that you have specified per feature. Additional options are also available.

 

Configuring the Basic screen settings


The Basic screen is displayed by default and lets you enable or disable email and SMS notifications for the following features:
 
Voicemail
Received Faxes
Missed Calls
Fax Transmission Results
Received Text Messages

Tap the slider button to either enable or disable the email or SMS notification for any of these features.

Configuring Email Notifications on the Basic screen


Enter the email address/es where the email notifications will be sent below Send Notifications to.

NOTE: You can enter multiple email addresses, separated by either a comma (,) or a semi-colon (;), as long as the email addresses fit the maximum limit of 255 characters.

Configuring SMS Notifications on the Basic screen


SMS Notifications are disabled by default. Once enabled, you can enter the number where the SMS notifications will be sent.
 

Step 1:


Tap Add Phone Number.  Enter the Phone Number, then select the carrier.

NOTE: You can add up to 5 phone numbers to the list.

Tap Save.

Double check the number below Text Message.

Configuring Voicemail Notifications 


The Voicemail Notifications screen allows you to individually enable or disable email and SMS notifications by toggling the slider button On Switch On or Off Switch Off.

NOTE: You can enter multiple email addresses, separated by either a comma (,) or a semi-colon (;), as long as the email addresses fit the maximum limit of 255 characters.

When this option is enabled, the voicemail will be attached as an .mp3 file to the email notification that you will receive when someone leaves a message.
Mark message as read once emailed

When this option is enabled, the new message will automatically be marked as read on your RingCentral Online account, Desktop app, and Mobile app once RingCentral sends the notification to your email.

The Fax Notifications screen allows you to copy the same settings from your Voicemail Notification settings, or individually enable or disable email and SMS notifications by toggling the slider button On Switch On or Off Switch Off.

Set Same as Voicemail to Off Switch Off if you prefer to set your Fax Notifications to be different from your Voicemail Notifications settings.
