Resetting or changing the Password, PIN or Security Question may be done using the RingCentral Phone for Mobile

IMPORTANT: If you are no longer able to log in to change your extension's Security Settings, you can have your Account Administrator change your password, or you can reset your own password.
 

Change your Password, PIN or Security Question as a User 

Follow the steps below to change your own Password, PIN or Security Question using the RingCentral Phone for Mobile.


Step 1:

Launch the RingCentral Phone for Mobile.

Log in to your RingCentral Phone for Mobile.


Step 2:

Tap your profile picture.

Tap your profile picture.


Step 3:

Tap Extension Settings.

Tap Extension Settings.


Step 4:

Tap User Info.

Tap User Info.
 

Step 5:

Scroll down, then tap User Password.

Scroll down, then tap User Password.


Step 6: 

Tap Continue.

Tap Continue.


Step 7: 

Enter your Current Password, then your New Password, PIN or Security Question.

Changing the password

The new Password needs to follow the Password Criteria. This criterion allows your Password to be secure and less vulnerable to unauthorized access. The password should at least contain:

• One (1) letter
• One (1) number
• One (1) special character (!, @, #, $, %, ^, &, * , .) or One (1) uppercase letter
• At least eight (8) characters with a maximum of 32 characters.

Changing the PIN

The PIN is used to verify your identity when checking your voicemail from a phone or in the automated attendant when contacting Customer Care. The new PIN must meet the following criteria:

• At least 6 numbers
• Maximum of 10 numbers
• No letters
• Non-sequential and Non-repeating

Changing the Security Question

You also have the option to change your Security Question and Answer. To do this, tap the drop-down list to select the security question, then fill in the answer field.

NOTE: The answer to your Security Question is not case sensitive, and should have at least 5 characters.


Step 8:

Tap Save to confirm the changes.

Change Another User's Password, PIN or Security Question as an Administrator

Follow the steps below to change another User's Password, PIN or Security Question.

NOTE: You must be an account Administrator to perform the steps below.


Step 1:

Launch the RingCentral Phone for Mobile.

Log in to your RingCentral Phone for Mobile.


Step 2:

Tap your profile picture.

Tap your profile picture.


Step 3:

Tap Phone System.

Tap Phone System.


Step 4:

Tap Users.

Tap Users.


Step 5: 

Tap the extension that needs to be modified.

Tap the extension that needs to be modified.

Tap User Info.

Scroll down, then tap User Password.

Scroll down, then tap User Password.


Step 8: 

Enter your Current Admin Password, and then the New Password, PIN or Security Question for the User.

Changing the password

Resetting your Password

You will see any of the 2 notification errors below when you have entered a wrong phone number and/or password combination, or a wrong email and/or password combination on your Android or iOS device.

SCENARIOERROR
When you have entered a wrong Phone Number and password combination.Invalid phone number or password. Please try again.
When you have entered a wrong Email and password combination.The email or password is incorrect. Please reset your password or try to sign in with phone number.


Tap OK to dismiss the notification, then proceed to reset your password.
 

Step 1: 

Launch the RingCentral Phone for Mobile, then tap Sign In.

Step 2: 

Tap Forgot Password? below the Sign In button.

You will see the following screens, depending on whether the wrong phone number, email, or password had been entered. A notification window

Step 3: 

Enter your RingCentral Phone Number and your Extension Number (required if you do not have a direct number), or your email address, then tap the Reset button.

Enter phone number, then tap Reset.Enter email address, then tap Reset.


Step 4:

Enter the correct answer to your Security Question, then tap Submit.

NOTE:  Your Security Question will depend on the setting that you have set on your account.

Step 5:

You will then receive an email to reset your password.

In your email, tap the Reset Your Password button.

Step 7: 

Enter your New Password on the boxes provided, then tap Save.
