Placing a call from the RingCentral desktop app

The RingCentral desktop app is an easy-to-use program that can be installed on your Windows PC or Mac. It is a comprehensive communications hub with all-inclusive phone, fax, business SMS, and conferencing for your desktop. This article focuses on the RingCentral desktop app's ability to place Outgoing Calls.

You can place outgoing calls in 2 ways:

1. Using the RingOut feature

2. Direct Dialing through the RingCentral desktop app
 

The following are required when placing a call directly from the RingCentral desktop:

• Headset with Mic or computer with built-in mic and speaker

• RingCentral desktop app assigned to a Computer
 

To place a call directly from the RingCentral desktop app, follow the steps below: 


Step 1:

Launch the RingCentral desktop app.

Step 2:

Click the Call button

Step 3:

Enter the number that you wish to call in the To: section of the window or you can click  User-added image to select a Contact from your RingCentral Contacts List.

NOTE: You can select your Caller ID Number from the Caller ID drop-down list. You will only be able to select your Main Company Numbers and the Direct Number assigned to your extension.
 

Step 4:

Click the Call button

NOTE:  For RingCentral Professional users, you need to purchase a digital line to use direct dial.


You have placed a direct outgoing call from the RingCentral desktop app.
