New Features in RingCentral for Google 4.0


Access to new persistent RingCentral tab from any web page

A floating app tab which is common to all Chrome browser windows and tabs is now available.

Switching to a new page minimizes the app to the bottom part of your screen. Click the maximize button to view the entire RingCentral for Google window.

NOTE: You can also drag the floating window anywhere at the bottom part of your screen.

Inbound call notification on RingCentral badge (in addition to browser notification)

A notification with a RingCentral badge appears when there is an inbound call, which lets you to either ignore or answer a call.

Change Presence status

Click the button above the Dialer button, or go to More > Settings > Status to change your Presence status.

Installing the Google Chrome Extension

NOTE: Click here if you have a Google-tagged account.


Step 1:

Pull up Google Chrome and then navigate to the Chrome Web Store.


Step 2:

On the search box, enter Ring Central.

On the search box, enter RingCentral


Step 3:

Locate RingCentral for Google, then click + ADD TO CHROME.

Step 4:

Click the Add extension button to confirm the installation.

Click Sign In.

NOTE: If you already have the RingCentral for Google extension and would like to update to the latest version, make sure to disable the existing version after.

Setting up the RingCentral Google Chrome Extension on Google-tagged Accounts

For Google-tagged accounts, welcome emails will show the setup for the RingCentral Google Chrome Extension.
