SummaryYou can use RingCentral Rooms with Microsoft Exchange 2007.  If you chose to do this, you can do the following:

• Meeting List - Tap this to start a scheduled meeting.
• Meet Now - This option will allow you to start an ad-hoc meeting.
• Join - This option will allow you to manually enter the Meeting ID and join a meeting.
• Presentation - This option will allow you to share content on TV(s) with meeting attendees in the conference room.

Follow the steps below to learn how to add RingCentral Rooms with Microsoft Exchange 2007.

The steps below will guide you on how to add Microsoft Exchange 2007 Calendar service with your RingCentral Rooms. Make sure you have already set up your Rooms system before following the steps below. See RingCentral Rooms | Getting Started to learn more.
 

RingCentral Rooms | Adding Microsoft Exchange 2007

i. Create a dedicated User for RingCentral Rooms to access Exchange 2007
ii. Create or Obtain Room and Room Resource Email 
iii. Delegate Rooms to RingCentral Rooms Service Account
iv. Enabling Basic Authentication or NTLM Authentication
v. Find EWS URL

Once done, you can go ahead and add Microsoft Exchange 2007 RingCentral Rooms in your RingCentral Online Account.

 

Create a dedicated User for RingCentral Rooms to access Exchange 2007

1. Launch Exchange Management Console (EMC).

2. Click Microsoft Exchange  > Microsoft Exchange On-Premises "your server's domain” > Recipients Configuration > Mailbox.

3. Right-click Mailbox and then, click New Mailbox....

4. Select User Mailbox and then, click Next” in the New Mailbox dialog.

5. Click Add New User > Next.

6. Enter your preferred email address. 
This will be used by all of your RingCentral Rooms.

NOTE:  Take note of the User logon name (User Principal Name) and Password.
 

Create or Obtain Room and Room Resource Email 

1. Launch Exchange Management Console (EMC).

2. Click Microsoft Exchange  > Microsoft Exchange On-Premises "your server's domain” > Recipients Configuration > Mailbox.

NOTE: Take n
ote of the Room Name and the Primary SMTP Address.
 

Delegate Rooms to RingCentral Rooms Service Account

1. Launch Exchange Management Console (EMC).

2. Click Microsoft Exchange  > Microsoft Exchange On-Premises "your server's domain” > Recipients Configuration > Mailbox.

3. Select the first room and click Manage Full Access Permission on the right side.

4. Select the first room and click Manage Full Access Permission.

5. In the Select Recipient dialog, select the dedicated email, and then click OK.

 

Enabling Basic Authentication or NTLM Authentication

RingCentral Rooms supports Basic and NTLM authentications. Click on the options below, whichever applies to your account.

Basic Authentication

1. Launch Server Manager on Windows Server.

2. Under Roles, click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

3. Click Sites > Web Server (IIS) > EWS.

4. Select Default Web Site and then double-click Authentication under IIS.

5. In the Features View, right-click Basic Authentication and then, click Enable.
 

NTLM Authentication

1. Open the Exchange Management Console and click Client Access under Server Configuration.

2. Click Enable Outlook Anywhere in the Actions window.

3. Enter the preferred name in the External host name field.

4. Click on the NTLM authentication radio button and click OK.
 

Find EWS URL

1. Press Ctrl and then, right-click on the Outlook icon on the bottom right corner of your desktop screen.

2. Click Test E-mail AutoConfiguration....

3. Enter your Outlook email and password.

4. Select Use AutoDiscover check box and then, click Test.


NOTE:  You can uncheck the other check boxes.

5. Take note of the Availability Service URL.

NOTE:  This is the EWS URL.
 

 Adding Microsoft Exchange 2007 to RingCentral Rooms in your RingCentral Online Account

IMPORTANT: You need to be an Administrator or a User with Meetings access.

1. Log in to your RingCentral Account.

2. Click Tools > Meetings.

3. Click RingCentral Rooms.

4. Click Calendar Integration.

5. Click Add a Calendar Service.

6. Select Exchange.

7. Enter the associated Exchange account email address and password.

8. Select Exchange version.

9. Enter the EWS(Exchange Web Service) URL found in EMC/ECP. Be sure to include the https:// portion of the URL.

10. Click Authorize.
