1.  What is RingCentral Rooms?

RingCentral Rooms is the “Every Room” video conferencing solution. It is a next-generation cloud-based video conference room solution without the expensive proprietary hardware needed with traditional video conference room systems. It is easy to configure with off-the-shelf equipment and delivers HD video, audio,and web conferencing capabilities.  

2.  Can I purchase RingCentral Rooms as a stand-alone service?

No. RingCentral Rooms is an add-on service that requires a RingCentral Office subscription with RingCentral Meetings or an Essentials / Advanced tier RingCentral Meetings Account. 

3.  Do I need to purchase any proprietary hardware in order to work with RingCentral Rooms?

No. RingCentral Rooms work with off-the-shelf hardware you prefer. You can utilize and configure your current phone and conferencing equipment with RingCentral Rooms. See System requirements for RingCentral Rooms to know the compatible hardware.

NOTE:  Make sure that the equipment for your RingCentral Rooms is installed and working properly. RingCentral does NOT offer support for the hardware equipment.

4.  My subscription is currently in Office Premium tier, will the number of people per meeting be changed if I add RingCentral Rooms?

No, it will not change. RingCentral Rooms, an extension of RingCentral Meetings, is a dedicated conference room solution.  When joining a meeting from a RingCentral Room, it will be counted as one (1) participant.

5.  Is there any limitation for RingCentral Rooms to be used in certain types of conference rooms?

No. RingCentral Rooms is ideal for any size of conference rooms – small, medium or large conference rooms – to meet your office needs.

6.  How can I make my RingCentral Rooms secure?

You can make your RingCentral Rooms secure by giving logins to Users with User Admin, Phone System Admin, Super Admin and Custom roles ONLY. Existing Users who are previously logged in but NOT assigned with the specific role, will be automatically logged out on future RingCentral Rooms updates. Users who need to log in to RingCentral Rooms may need to contact their Administrators to assign them with the specified role. See User Roles and Permissions to learn how to assign specific roles to Users.

7.  How can I purchase RingCentral Rooms licenses?

RingCentral Rooms licenses can be purchased directly from an online account.  See the instructions on how to purchase RingCentral Rooms.

8.  Is there any limitation on how many RingCentral Rooms license I can purchase?

You can only purchase 50 licenses in bulk at once.  However, you can repeat the purchase process if you need more than 50 RingCentral Rooms licenses for your company.

9.  How do I control a meeting with RingCentral Rooms?

RingCentral Rooms use an iPad as a meeting console to control your equipment in a conference room, join or start a RingCentral Meeting, and share content during a meeting. See RingCentral Rooms: iPad Controller Overview to learn more.

10.  How do I start a RingCentral Meeting from RingCentral Rooms?

There are two (2) ways to join a meeting. 

i. You can start a meeting by tapping on the Meet Now icon.  The meeting will start immediately.  Once you are in a meeting, you can invite any attendees with an email invitation.

ii. If you have scheduled a calendar event for this conference room and included RingCentral Meetings event information (either by using the RingCentral Meetings app or RingCentral Meetings Outlook Plug-in) then your meeting will be displayed on the RingCentral Room' iPad console. You can tap on the Meeting List, select your meeting and then tap to Join from the iPad.  

NOTE: This requires the RingCentral Room to have been configured with Exchange/Office 365 or Google Service Account integration.

11.  How do I join a RingCentral Meeting from RingCentral Rooms?

If the meeting is scheduled with a specific conference room, you can easily tap Start Meeting to join a scheduled meeting. Or you can join a meeting by entering a Meeting ID from the iPad console.

12. How do I share screens in RingCentral Rooms?

You can share screens in RingCentral Rooms with the following options:

12. Does RingCentral Rooms use the same port as RingCentral Meetings?

Yes. 

13. Does RingCentral Rooms use more bandwidth than RingCentral Meetings?

No, RingCentral Rooms uses the same bandwidth as any other RingCentral Meetings client.
