Setting up Join Now on your RingCentral desktop app


Step 1:

Log in to your RingCentral Desktop app.

Step 2:

Click the Join Now button on the main tab.

NOTE: You can also access Join Now by clicking View Settings > Join Now.

Step 3:

Click Enable.

Windows - Desktop app - Join Now - Click Enable.

Step 4:

If you are using Windows, choose either Google Calendar or Outlook.

If you are using a Mac, select iCal.

Click your choice of calendar below:

    Google Calendar 
    Outlook 
    iCal

Step 1:

Enter your Google Account email address, then click Next.

Step 2:

Enter your Google Account password, then click Sign in.

Step 3:

Click Allow to permit RingCentral for Desktop to access the following information from your Google account.

Step 4:

Select the calendars you want to include.

Once done with the configuration, click the Close button (upper-right corner) to exit from the Settings window.

NOTE: You may also set up your Meeting Reminder.

Select the calendars you want to include.

Once done with the configuration, click the Close button (upper-right corner) to exit from the Settings window.

How to use Join Now


Step 1:

Click the Join Now button on the main tab.

Step 2:

View your meetings for the day.

Windows - Desktop app - Join Now - View Meetings


NOTE: If there are no meetings scheduled for the day, you will see the screen below instead.

Step 3:

To join a meeting, click Join or Dial-in.

NOTE: Clicking Join opens the RingCentral Meetings app.

If you click Dial-in, you will see the available dial-in numbers.

It is advisable to use (773) 231-9226 for a more reliable audio experience and HD voice quality.

Setting up the Join now Meeting Reminder

If the Join now notification does not appear on your Desktop app, it is probably because the Meeting Reminder is set to None. Follow the steps below to learn how to enable the Event alert on your Desktop app.

To configure the Join now Meeting Reminder on your Desktop app, click My Profile > Mobile app settings > Join now > Event alert, then choose how


Step 1:

Click the View Settings button, located on the lower right corner of your Desktop app window.

Step 2:

Click Join Now, then look for Meeting Reminder.

Click the drop-down box below Meeting Reminder then choose how many seconds or minutes before the meeting should you be notified.

Once done with the configuration, click the Close button (upper-right corner) to exit from the Settings window.

Join Now Google calendar integration Frequently Asked Questions


1. Do I need to pay for an additional fee for this Google Calendar integration?

It is free and included in your RingCentral plans.  

2. How does it work?

It works with RingCentral mobile app and RingCentral for Desktop. Once you authorize the access to your Google Calendar from your RingCentral apps, the events will be displayed in your Join Now list.

If your events include RingCentral Meetings or conferencing access, the “Join” and “Dial-in” buttons will be shown on your events. Tap (or click) on the buttons will automatically connect you to that specific online meeting or conference call.

3. Does Join Now work with other calendars, such as Exchange or iCal?

Currently, we only support Google Calendar, Outlook (for Windows), and iCal (for Mac). We plan to support other calendars in the future release.

4. Is Join Now available in Glip or other RingCentral integration solution?

Not yet. It is only available in both RingCentral for Desktop and mobile app.

5. Am I able to schedule a meeting within Join Now?

No. The app can only synchronize with the events in Google Calendar.
