Setting up Email to login to your RingCentral Account 


Requirements

Users need to have a unique email address to enable this feature.
• Existing Users with unique email address can log in immediately with their email credentials after the update.
• Existing Users who log in with their phone numbers will be notified with a pop-up message about the feature and will be given the ability to set their email addresses as unique.

Enable Login by Email


Two ways Administrators and Users can enable this feature: through 
Express Setup
User Details

NOTE: Make sure the Use email to log in radio button is enabled
 

i. Through Express Setup

Verify Email Uniqueness


NOTE: ONLY Administrators can verify the User's email address by clicking the Verify Email Uniqueness button.

This can be done in two (2) ways:
During User activation 
Under User Details

i. During User activation

IMPORTANT: Users need to have a unique email address to use this feature.  If a User's email address is not unique, errors may be encountered, such as the following scenarios below:

 

What to do if Email Address is not Unique


• In the event that a User's email address is NOT unique, an Alert window may appear. This can happen when there is another User in the same account has the same email address. It can also happen when the same email address is used in a different account.

• When clicking the Verify Email Uniqueness button, the Duplicate Email Association window may appear. Administrators can edit a User's email address by simply clicking on Edit and then, changing the Email Address. Click Save to confirm and OK to exit the window.

NOTE: If your company account has already enabled Google G Suite, you will not see the Use email to log in radio button anymore since you can also use your Google G Suite email to log in. However, you can still enter any preferred email to log in aside from your Google G Suite account. To know how to enable Google G Suite in your account, see Google G Suite Auto Provisioning.
