The RingCentral desktop app allows you to view the fax messages on your account. This article will guide you on how to set up the default application to view your fax messages on your desktop. 

IMPORTANT: Download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader.  Though there are some PDF Readers available on the internet, RingCentral strongly suggests to use Adobe Acrobat Reader. Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free software and can be downloaded from Adobe's website.

Windows 7

Step 1:

Click the windows logo and search the Control Panel. Select Control Panel.

Step 2:

On the Control Panel menu, click Default Programs.

Step 3:

Select "Associate a file type or protocol with a program".

Step 4:

Search for the file type ".pdf". Click Change program and select Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

Select the Tick the box beside "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file". Click OK.

Windows 10

Step 1:

On your keyboard, press the Windows icon button+i. The Settings options will appear, select System.

On the left pane, click Default apps. Select "Choose default applications by file type".

Step 3:

Search for the file type ".pdf". Click the current program and change it to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
