• Helps with maintenance window problems.
• Dial-by-name directory enabled for linked accounts

Why split into different accounts?

• For accounts with thousands of users – Account Linking allows you to connect users across multiple accounts.
• Different subsidiaries – different operating operating procedures and limited interoperability across sites.
• Global Office accounts could be split across North America and UK to minimize impact during maintenance hours.

Limitations:

• Can’t send pager to federated contacts.
• Can’t call back from Call Log if call was initially placed as Main Num*Ext format.
• Same information for users in linked account available except presence, extension texting and profile image.

How do I activate Account Linking?

1. Contact Support to link your accounts. To speed up the process, have these information prepared:

• Phone numbers for all accounts to be included on the federation.
• Admin name of all the accounts.
• Name for each account within the federation (this name will be used to differentiate between accounts).
• How you want to manage the extensions since duplicate ext is not ideal as a point of reference.
(You are encouraged to have unique extensions in the federation - Support will assist you if you want to proceed with the setup)

2. Customer will see the list of linked accounts in the service web once completed.
