The Connecting Message feature allows you to set the recorded message that callers should hear to let them know the call will now be transferred to a particular extension.

NOTE: Administrators should log in to the RingCentral Online account then go to My Extension in order to configure his User Greeting. Check User: Set up User Greeting for directions.

Administrators should log in to the RingCentral Online account then go to My Extension in order to configure his User Greeting. 

IMPORTANT: Only Super Admins, User Admins, and Users with User Admin access can set up an extension's User Greeting. See User Roles and Permissions for more information.

The Administrator should log in to the RingCentral Online account and go to the Users section on the Admin Portal.

Follow the steps below to learn how you can enable or disable and set up an extension's Connecting Message settings on the RingCentral Online account.

Step 1: 

On the User list > Users With Extensions tab, click the User.

Step 2: 

Click Screening, Greeting, & Hold Music.

Step 3:

Click User Hours or After Hours.

Step 4: 

Check Edit below Connecting Message.

NOTE: Uncheck Enable if you need to disable Connecting Message instead.

Step 5: 

Select how you prefer to customize the User Greeting, then follow the instructions.

Step 6: 

Preview the customized Connecting Message by using the following buttons:

• Click Play to listen to the custom recording.
• Click Re-record to change or replace the custom recording.

Click Done.
