1. What are desk phones?

Deskphones are VoIP (Voice over IP) phones where telephone calls are made over the Internet instead of a traditional telephone network. For more information, go to VOIP Phones page.
 

2. What are the tested desk phones with the RingCentral service?

Go to List of Supported Phones for more information. 
 

3. How do I plug in and set up my desk phone?

To connect your desk phone:
Polycom phones - plug in an Ethernet cable into the LAN port
Cisco phones - plug in an Ethernet cable into the SW port 

Phones purchased from RingCentral should be plug-and-play, which means that the phone will be provisioned automatically once it connects to the internet. See Connecting your RingCentral Desk Phone to your Network to learn more.

4. How do I transfer a call?

To transfer a call, press the following on your phone:

(#) + (#) + Extension number + (#)
or
# + # + Phone number (of the person you are trying to call)

5. How do I make a 3-way call?

Depending on your device, there is a specific button on your desk phone to make a 3-way call. Press the Conference button and dial the extension number of the conference call participant.

NOTE: Three-way calls through desk phones are limited up to three (3) callers.

6. How do I put a caller on hold?

Depending on your device, there is a specific button on your desk phone to put a caller on hold. Press the Hold button to put the caller on hold.
 

7.  What is a Static IP address?

Static IP address is a network address that is manually configured to a network device such as IP phones, computers, and tablets.
 

8. Can I lease or rent desk phones from RingCentral?

Yes. Desk and conference phones Rental Options are available for all RingCentral Office US customers with multi-year contract. Go to RingCentral Phone Lease Program and Rental Agreement for more details.

9. Can I use a cordless phone with my RingCentral service?
