This guide will show you how to transfer calls from Polycom Soundpoint IP320, IP321, IP330, IP331, and IP335 phones.

A call can be transferred in one of the two ways:

Consultative Transfer– The party to whom you want to transfer the call answers their phone before you transfer the call or hang up. You can consult with them before completing the transfer. 
Caller ID Behavior: 
Consultative transfers only show the Caller ID of the transferring party and does not include the originating Caller ID.

Blind Transfer – The call is automatically transferred after you dial the number of the party to whom you want to transfer the call.
Caller ID Behavior:  
Blind transfers only show the originating Caller ID.

Transfer Directly to another User's Voicemail - The call is automatically transferred to the User's voicemail.


Performing a Consultative Transfer

Step 1:
During a call, press Trans soft key. The active call is placed on hold.

Step 2:
Here you can:

 
a. Enter the extension or phone number to which you want to transfer the call; or

NOTE: Consultative transfer to an extension number will work if there’s a digital or direct line assigned to the receiving extension.

b. Press the Normal soft key to access the local contact directory or received callers list.  Then choose between Dir or Callers soft key. Choose the number to which you want to transfer the call.

Step 3:
As soon as the ring-back sound is heard or after the party answers, press Trans soft key to complete the transfer.

You can talk privately to the party to which you are transferring the call before the transfer is completed.

If you are using a handset, the transfer can be completed by putting the handset on the cradle.

You can cancel the transfer before the call connects by pressing the Cancel soft key.
 

Performing a Blind Transfer


Step 1:
During an active call, press Trans soft key.

Press the Blind soft key.

Step 3:
Here you can:

 
a. Enter the extension or phone number you want to transfer the call.

b. Press the Dir soft key to access the local contact directory, use the navigation keys to access the contacts, and then press Dial.

c. Press the Callers soft key to access the Received Calls list, use navigation keys to access the contact and then press Dial.

d. Press Dial to access the Placed Call list, use up and down to access the contact, then press check button

At this point, the call is connected to the number to which you are transferring them.



Transferring Directly to another User's Voicemail


Step 1:
During an active call, press Trans soft key.

Step 2:
Press the Blind soft key.

Step 3: 
Press *0 (asterisk, and then zero).

Step 4:
Enter the extension number of the voicemail where you want to transfer the call.

The caller is then immediately sent to the voicemail of the extension number you entered.
