Details
Passwords and Security Questions on your online account maintain your account's confidentiality and privacy. This article demonstrates how you can change your security settings or another User's security settings.

The following topics are covered:
 

Administrators 

• If you are ABLE TO LOG IN to your account and you want to CHANGE YOUR Password, PIN or Security Question

Changing Another User's Password, PIN or Security Question and Answer

NOTE: You need to have Administrator access to change the Password, PIN or Security Question of another User in your RingCentral account. 

Step 1:

On the Admin Portal page, click Users. When you click Users, the User List will automatically load.
On the User list, under Users With Extensions, click the name of the User that you want to view.

The User Details section will load. 
Under User Details, click User Password.

Step 4:

Under User Details, you can do the following:

Change the User's Password
Change the User's PIN
Change the User's Security Question and Answer
 

Changing the Password

Enter your Admin Password, and then enter the New Password that your wish to assign to the User. Click Save.

NOTE: The New Password needs to follow the Password Criteria. This criteria allows the User's Password to be secure and less vulnerable to unauthorized access. It should at least contain:

• One (1) letter
• One (1) number
• One (1) special character (!, @, #, $, %, ^, &, * , .) or One (1) uppercase letter
• At least eight (8) characters with a maximum of 32 characters.

Changing the PIN

The PIN is used to verify the User's identity when checking their voicemail from a phone or in the automated attendant when contacting Customer Care. The new PIN must meet the following criteria:

• At least 6 numbers
• Maximum of 10 numbers
• No letters
• Non-sequential and Non-repeating

To change a User's PIN, enter your Admin Password, and then enter the New PIN that you wish to assign to the User. Click Save.

Changing the Security Question and Answer

Enter your Admin Password, and then click on the drop-down list to select the Security Question and fill in the Answer field.

Step 5:

You will be redirected back to the User Details screen. Click Save.
 

Changing your Extension's Password, PIN or Security Question and Answer

Step 1:

Log in to your RingCentral account.

Step 2:

Click Settings.

The User Details section will load. 
Under User Details, click User Password.

Under User Details, you can do the following:

Change your Password
Change your PIN
Change your Security Question and Answer
 

Changing the Password

Enter your Current Password, and then enter your New Password. Click Save.

Changing the PIN

Changing the Security Question and Answer

Enter your Current Password, and then click on the drop-down list to select the Security Question and fill in the Answer field.

Step 5:

The page will redirect to the User Details screen. Click Save.
 

Resetting your Password if you can no longer log in

If the password that you used to log in is incorrect, you will get a message that says "Phone number and password do not match. Please try again.

If you are unable to remember your password, follow the steps below: 

Step 1:

Click Forgot your Password?

When you have entered a wrong Phone Number and password combination.

Step 2:

Fill out the required fields and click Next.

When resetting Phone Number password. 

NOTE: Entering the extension is optional.

Step 3:

Enter the answer to your Security Question and then, click Submit.

NOTE: If you are unable to remember the answer to your Security Question, contact your Administrator to reset your password. You can also Contact RingCentral Support. The RingCentral Support Representative will need to verify your account by asking for your RingCentral Phone Number, Extension Number, and Answer to your Extension's Security Question to verify your account. RingCentral Support can provide further assistance after the account is verified. If you are a User with no Administrator access and unable to remember the answer to your extension's Security Question, contact your Account Administrator to change your extension's Security Question and Answer. You can update your Security Question and Answer once you are logged in to your account. 

Step 4: 

If you are able to provide the correct answer to your Security Question, an email will be sent to the Email Address set on your extension.

Step 5: 

Access your email account, and open the RingCentral notification email in your Inbox. Click the link on the email to reset your password.

NOTE: If you are unable to find the email in your inbox, look for it in the Spam folder.

Step 6:

You will be redirected to the RingCentral page where you can reset your password. Enter your New Password, and then Retype it on the Confirm Password box. Click Submit.

NOTE: Your new alphanumeric password needs to have least one (1) letter, number, special character, and 8-32 characters long.

You can now log in to your RingCentral Online Account with your new Password.
